Seattle Trauma Counseling's Kirkland office in the Houghton neighborhood is a short drive west of Redmond, and it's where most of our Redmond clients come for in-person trauma therapy.
Sessions are also available online anywhere in Washington.
We offer somatic, body-based therapy for trauma and PTSD, religious trauma, childhood and attachment trauma, anxiety and panic and dissociation, for adults 18 and over. You don't need to know what kind of therapy you need before you contact us, the free consultation is where we work that out together.
The search that most often brings Redmond residents to us is for religious trauma therapy. It can follow a strict upbringing, a high-control church or group, spiritual abuse, or simply leaving a faith that once organized your whole life. It often shows up as shame that doesn't respond to logic, fear that still arrives on cue, trouble trusting your own judgment, or grief for a community you no longer belong to.
Our religious trauma work never asks you to adopt or abandon a belief. Some clients are rebuilding a faith, some have left one, and some don't know yet, and all of those are workable places to start. Our religious trauma therapy page explains how we approach it in more depth.

Alongside religious trauma, we see Redmond clients for PTSD after accidents, assaults or medical events, complex PTSD that built up over years, sexual trauma, narcissistic and emotional abuse, grief after a sudden loss, dissociative identity disorder and couples therapy for trauma and disconnection.
A common thread is that life looks fine from the outside. People are managing demanding jobs and full households while their body stays braced, sleep stays light, and certain moments set off reactions they can explain but can't switch off. Somatic therapy works with those reactions directly, using approaches such as EMDR, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Lifespan Integration.
The office is at 10512 NE 68th St, Suite 202, in Kirkland's Houghton neighborhood, just off I-405. From Redmond, most people come in on SR 520 or along Redmond Way and NE 85th Street. It's a straightforward drive from downtown Redmond, Education Hill, Overlake, Grass Lawn and Union Hill.
Sessions are by appointment, and the Kirkland office page has a Get Directions link that opens the exact location in Google Maps. If an office visit doesn't fit your week, online sessions work well for most of what we do, and many clients alternate.
