Trauma and PTSD Therapy for Issaquah and Sammamish

Seattle Trauma Counseling doesn't have an office in Issaquah or Sammamish.

Our nearest office is in Kirkland, and many clients from both cities see us online from home instead, which works well for most of what we do.

We offer somatic, body-based therapy for PTSD and trauma, complex PTSD, anxiety and panic, grief and dissociation, for adults 18 and over, in person in Kirkland or Edmonds and online anywhere in Washington. You don't need to know which approach you need before contacting us, that's what the free consultation is for.

PTSD and Trauma Therapy for Issaquah and Sammamish

PTSD is what people in Issaquah most often search for when they find us. Sometimes it follows a single event, such as a car accident, an assault, a frightening medical experience or a sudden loss. Sometimes it's the result of something that went on for years. Either way, it tends to show up as a nervous system that won't stand down: flashbacks or nightmares, a startle you can't control, avoiding places or people, feeling numb, or sleep that never quite restores you.

Our guide to PTSD versus a normal response to trauma explains the difference in more detail. In therapy we work with those responses directly, using approaches such as EMDR, Brainspotting, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Internal Family Systems, matched to what you're ready for.

Large, jagged rocks protrude from the ocean near the shore, with waves gently crashing against them under an overcast sky.

Online Therapy When the Drive Doesn't Fit

For a lot of people in Issaquah and Sammamish, the drive to Kirkland is manageable once, but hard to fit in every week. Online sessions solve that. They're secure, they're with the same licensed trauma specialists, and EMDR and most of our somatic methods translate well to video.

Many clients start in person to get to know their therapist and then shift mostly online, or come into the office for some sessions and meet from home for others. If you'd prefer more concentrated work rather than weekly sessions, our therapy intensives are another option.
