Seattle Trauma Counseling's Kirkland office is a short drive north of downtown Bellevue on I-405, and it's where our Bellevue clients come for in-person trauma therapy.
We don't have a Bellevue office, and many Bellevue clients see us online from home or between meetings instead.
We offer somatic, body-based therapy for PTSD and trauma, complex PTSD and childhood trauma, anxiety and panic and dissociation, for adults 18 and over. You don't need to know which method you need before you contact us, that's what the free consultation is for.
Many of the Bellevue clients we see are doing well by every outside measure. They hold demanding jobs, run households and look after other people, while privately sleeping badly, bracing through the day, or reacting to certain moments in ways they can explain but can't switch off. Often the pattern goes back years, to a childhood that required them to be capable early, and it surfaces when life finally slows down or something new knocks it loose.
That is the territory of complex PTSD, and it rarely responds to insight alone. We also treat PTSD after a single event such as an accident, assault or medical emergency, as well as religious trauma, sexual trauma, narcissistic and emotional abuse and grief after a sudden loss.

Treatment is phase-based. We start by helping your nervous system settle enough to do the work, and only then move to the memories and patterns underneath, at a pace your body can handle. You won't be asked to retell everything in detail.
Depending on what fits, your therapist may use EMDR, Brainspotting, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems or Lifespan Integration, and will explain each one before you try it. If weekly sessions are hard to fit around work, therapy intensives compress the work into longer blocks.
For a lot of people in Bellevue, the barrier isn't distance, it's the calendar. Online sessions are secure, with the same licensed trauma specialists, and EMDR and most of our somatic methods work well by video. Many clients start in Kirkland to meet their therapist and then move mostly online, or mix the two.
The office is at 10512 NE 68th St, Suite 202, in Kirkland, just off I-405. From downtown Bellevue, Wilburton, Crossroads and Bridle Trails it's a short drive north on I-405 or along 116th Ave NE. From Factoria, Eastgate, Somerset and Newport Hills, I-405 north is usually the simplest route.
Sessions are by appointment, and the Kirkland office page has a Get Directions link that opens the exact location in Google Maps.
